The Octa Collective Society
We are a Victoria based not-for-profit organization with charity status. Our mission is to provide all children with the opportunity to develop life skills by exploring their potential through arts experiences.
Our program, artsREACH, delivers visual and theatre arts workshops to public elementary schools in the Capital Region, focusing on schools with a high population of children from low income families. Through these workshops, children explore themes such as building safe communities, multicultural understanding and respect for each other.
The goals of artsREACH are to empower young people to:
develop artistic and creative skills in a positive learning environment
gain an appreciation for the arts
improve their self confidence and self-esteem, and
become further involved in arts education and the arts outside of the school system.
